I would like to take a moment to welcome you back to Hamady Middle School for the 2023-24 school year! We have a lot of opportunities for our students and families this year and we are very excited to work together to achieve greatness in our district. I have confidence that each and every student that walks through our doors can, and will, achieve incredible things.
This is my first year as Principal of Hamady Middle School and I am so thrilled to continue to build relationships with the students, families, and community members. I strongly believe in having a growth mindset and that is what I am coming into this year with. My goal is to strive to be a little bit better every day and I hope you will strive for the same thing. Together we can create lasting change in our school and community.
Parents, guardians, and families are the rock for each of our students and we love getting families involved every step of the way. We will hold monthly parent/guardian meetings, both online and in person, to keep you informed as well as hearing your concerns and ideas for bettering our school. Additionally, we always want to keep you in the loop so please make sure your contact information is up to date in the office and feel free to reach out at any time.
The school day will begin at 7:45am with breakfast from 7-7:35am (please note breakfast will not be served after 7:35am) and school will end at 2:45pm as it has in past years. Please do your absolute best to get your students here on time as student achievement is directly linked to attendance. The only difference in school schedule this year is the addition of a 30 minute advisory period. This advisory period will focus on students’ mental health and will help teach them ways to handle stress, anxiety, and other feelings that naturally occur throughout the day. Mental health, physical health, and an equitable education are key to helping “the whole student” which is our goal here at Hamady Middle School.
The first day of school will be September 5th and will be a half day, ending at 11:15am. I am truly so excited to get this year started and to see all the incredible things our Middle School accomplishes this school year. Together there is nothing we can’t do - “We and us are a must!”
