Let Gratitude Be Your Attitude

The holidays can be a wonderful time of year, where you get to see family members who you haven’t seen in a long time and also get to enjoy a great meal.  However, I like to remember that the Holidays are mostly about appreciating the things and people in your life and demonstrating gratitude.  Showing gratitude during the holiday celebration might mean helping your family cook a meal, cleaning up the house or having everyone at the table list three things they are grateful for at dinner.  In the time leading up to vacation, you could list 10 things that you are thankful for or sincerely thanking someone who has helped you this year.  Being thankful might mean writing a gratitude card to a teacher, parent or friend who gave you a hand when you needed it or simply smiling at someone or giving a compliment when you see someone in the hallway.  Mostly, being grateful means appreciating the good things in your life and having a happy attitude as you go about your day.  Sometimes a kind word or a smile can really help others to be thankful for things in their life too!!!
