Principal's Message

Greetings Hawk Family,

It seems as if summer was only here for a short amount of time, and the beginning of a new school year has descended quickly upon us. I am looking forward to an amazing year together as we soar to even greater heights! Every day is a new opportunity for excellence, and that is what we are aiming for here at Hamady Middle School.

This year, Hamady Middle School will resume our normal schedule of 55-minute classes with 5 minutes passing time in between classes. We will also have a Music Teacher as well! There will be Math and Reading Intervention classes offered to students to help build and strengthen their skills. The students will take various assessments and have many opportunities in the classroom to meet their learning targets. We will no longer have Focus class in the morning; students will report to their 1st hour class at 7:45 am! We will have an advisory period after lunch (similar to Focus)where the students can work on homework, receive additional help in subject areas, work on character building activities, and many other engaging activities.  I am so excited about all of the knowledge our students will gain this year!

As we begin the school year, please be mindful to get the proper rest needed for a successful day. Breakfast will be available for the students in the morning so that everyone can receive nutritious fuel for the brain. Let’s also be sure to check our attire before leaving home to ensure that we are all compliant with the dress code. Thank you parents and guardians for all of your support! Please be sure to sign up for our parent/guardian volunteer program Parents With A Purpose; a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your student’s education. I am also hosting Breakfast Chats throughout the year so please come and join me!

I look forward to seeing each one of you this school year! Go Hawks!

Sincerely,

Ms. Dionna Ross, Ed.S.
